the real truth of who I really am.
I was sold into a game you can never win and it almost cost me my life
Born into “comfortable” I started out life without the stories of hard ship you hear from most. My childhood was great. I didn’t have it all but I had enough. I had all my parents could afford. A father who almost lost everything during the 87’ financial crisis and worked 2 x jobs to get back to safety. Inadvertently I saw the struggle and knew I didn’t want to fall into that “trap”.
I left school at 16. It wasn’t for me. I started an apprenticeship as a motorcycle mechanic. Life was good. That was until I picked up the book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. Just into 18 years of age I bought a property and was sold on this illusion of playing the game of financial freedom, innocently thinking this was the key to a successful life. I played that game very F@*&IN well!
Business founder at 23, 7 properties at 29 and realized a dream that would be my undoing and lead me to purpose. In April of 2009 I bought my dream car.
I grabbed the steering wheel and my very first unconscious thought was “is this it”? Is this all there is?
 Success on the outside – Emptiness within
I realized I was living a life that others wanted me to live. Trying so hard to be the man and prove myself to the world.
The years that followed, were a hollow existence. A relationship breakdown that left me broker than ever. Stuck in a business I hated getting up for at 4am every single day.
It all came to a head on the edge of that balcony. I knew I didn’t really want to end it all. But I saw no hope or way out of my pathetic existence. Something grabbed at me.
An epiphany. The past is full of regret, the future for full of fear of the “what if”, but NOW is the only moment we have.
I went deep in understanding myself and in doing so, I learned exactly what a MAN needs to do to discover his own truth.
The greatest gifts in life aren’t always wrapped with a bow. Sometimes they look like an existential crisis.
I let go and lived.
The greatest gifts just started showing up, because I did! Â A relationship that I did not think could possibly exist full even when it was the furthest thing from my mind.
I moved country! We have 2 sons. Amazing friends and connections that continue to grow and….. I live purposefully every day, helping people discover their own truth.
Most importantly, I love the person I see in the mirror every single day!
